I devour books. I dive in through their shimmering surface and stay under as long as I can.
In the past couple of weeks I've completed:
John Christopher's Tripods Books 1-4
I've read and reread this series since I was very young - maybe 20 times. I just picked up a full set to share with our kid on the way.
I've read parts of Einstein's Dreams - this was the book that Becky and I read together in the dawn of our life together and of the day, on my old rooftop.
and Prisoners of Age
We found this book at an Alcatraz Prison photo exhibit.

I'm reading Harriet Lerner's "Dance of Connection." She's a pretty smart psychotherapist from Topeka Kansas. Staunch Feminist too. You might have heard of her.

I'm reading On Job: God Talk and the Suffering of the Innocent by liberation theologian Gustavo Gutierrez. Great stuff.
I'm reading The Gifts of the Jews by Thomas Cahill, an excellent retelling of the Old Testament part of God's story.
I've read about 10 Shakespeare plays in the last 6 weeks...unfortunately not by choice. I blame UC for that one. I now dream in Old English.
Finally, Sarah and I read out loud to each other before bed, and we are currently working on the Davinci Code, which has been a fun ride so far.
I just finished The Post-Evangelical by Dave Tomlinson (again). Now I'm working on The Four Loves (C.S. Lewis) and Crunchy Cons... by Rod Dreher.
I have a tendency to get ahead of myself when it comes to books. I choose too many good ones at one time.
I just got my new National Geographic. And I'm making my way through the newest Geez Magazine.
